Tubmarine began as a place to be together.
I started building these tubs for a very simple reason. I wanted a place that brought people together. When my children were young, some of my happiest moments were spent outside with them, in a simple wood-fired tub, whatever the weather. Rain or snow, laughing, splashing, and just being together. Other times, it was watching them enjoy it on their own, confident and carefree. Those moments slow time. They create memories. They remind you to switch off for a while.
That idea has stayed with me. Over the years, it became less about the temperature of the water and more about how it made people feel. Warmth, cold, contrast. A place to gather, to reset, to be present. Time with family. Time with your partner. Sitting quietly with a glass of wine, or stepping into cold water and clearing your head. Different experiences, guided by the same intention. To slow things down in a busy world.
From the beginning, I wanted to build products that reflected that mindset. Made with care, restraint, and function in mind. Built to last, not to be replaced. Much of the stainless steel we use has a high recycled content and can be recycled again at the end of its life. The timber is responsibly sourced softwood, modified to achieve the durability and lifespan of hardwood without relying on scarce materials.
In a world that has become increasingly throwaway, Tubmarine is about creating objects that endure. Objects that age well. Objects that become part of people’s lives for years, not seasons.
Everything we make today still begins with that same idea.
